SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER/ANALYSTS [ top ]
The Moore Group is actively seeking professional Systems Programmer/Analysts ranging from Beginner to Senior level. The chosen candidates will support the Department of Defense in Norfolk, Virginia.

General Summary:

  • The Systems Programmer/Analysts will review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. They will work with the client and users on the development of software specifications.
  • As a Senior Systems Programmer/Analyst, the chosen candidate will be sought by his/her peers as a respected resource, and must have experience in coaching and developing other associates while applying their own skills to the project.
  • All chosen Programmer/Analysts must be able to create and document conceptual, detailed designs and write code based on a conceptual description of the business logic provided by the DoD.

Experience & Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree and demonstrated experience in systems programming, with up to 8 years or more of general experience is required. Shipyard maintenance experience is a plus, as is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Blackbelt background.

Two plus years of proven experience in actual programming/analysis work with the majority of the following software disciplines is crucial:
  • Pacbase (highly desired)
  • .NET
  • Oracle (Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle Developer, Oracle DBA)
  • JAVA
Other skills which are a plus include:
  • Crystal Reports
  • Business Objects
  • Maximo
  • SOAP
  • XML

Responsibilities:

  • Continually assess the performance of appropriate software systems to identify and correct problems which impact operation efficiency and work quality.
  • For Senior Programmers, serve as a proactive Senior liaison with user personnel to ensure continuing responsiveness of applicable system software user requirements.
  • Analyze performance indicators such as system response time and the number of programs processed to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Design, code, install, and maintain appropriate systems software programs.
  • Ensure the maintenance of adequate software systems documentation.
  • All Systems Programmer/Analysts may perform other duties as assigned.

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen capable of applying for Secret Clearance. TMG will initiate this process for the successful applicant.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and programming skill set based on the list of skills above.

DIRECTOR OF COMMERCIAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT [ top ]
The Moore Group is actively seeking a proven, experienced sales professional to act as our Director of Commercial Business Development in our Norfolk, VA, office. This opportunity requires that the Director be completely involved in making marketing visits, sales calls, and developing proposals, and offers the chosen candidate strong potential for growth and prosperity because of our company's sound position despite the current economy. The chosen Director must be experienced in the outside sales of intangible services because of the unique approaches required in providing solutions and alternatives to clients for such services.

The successful Commercial Sales Director in this role will be expected to:

  • Build relationships personally with customers.
  • Provide appropriate market & competitive information.
  • Direct and participate in the development and authoring of proposals required by potential clients.
  • Do much more than leave voicemails and emails in the hope of obtaining new business.
  • Involve themselves in cold calling, business & social networking, but be creative in building a strong customer base.
  • Establish goals, objectives, strategies and budget requirements for developing new business.
  • Travel approximately 15%-20% of the time.

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess the following:

  • Experience in outside sales of intangible services highly preferred.
  • 4-year college degree in business, marketing, or finance; or equivalent business experience.
  • Experience in proposal development and authoring.
  • Financial acumen in understanding operations and in developing proposals.
  • Solution-based selling experience in which you understand our capabilities and how to align these capabilities into strategic solutions to fulfill clients' needs.
  • Experience in successfully building alliances and influencing key decision makers (of all levels).
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and Microsoft Office skills.

The Moore Group is actively seeking Washington, D.C.-based application trainers for a variety of commercial and federal projects.

  • are highly motivated, enthusiastic and can effectively communicate to and train all user levels within various environments.
  • can relate to and motivate a diverse and multi-cultural user population.
  • are computer literate and comfortable in teaching software.
  • have at least three years training/teaching experience.
  • exercise independent judgment needed to resolve problems encountered in the field.

Capabilities/Duties: Demonstrated ability to plan and provide end-user training or training on business process improvements and other procedures with minimal oversight. Demonstrated ability to prepare routine training materials. Trains personnel by conducting formal classroom courses, workshops, and seminars. Some travel may be required.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYSTS [ top ]
The Moore Group is actively seeking professional, experienced Systems Analysts to support the Department of Defense in Norfolk, Virginia on a long term project lasting 5+ years.

Responsibilities of the chosen Systems Analysts:

  • The chosen Systems Analysts will serve as team members in analyzing requirements, working closely with developers and users alike.
  • Interface with users and programmers to define existing or new system scope and objectives, provide need assessments, Requirements Analysis, and issue test scripts, among other duties.
  • Communicate with end users in the operation and flow of the application.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced Business Systems Analysts.
  • Exercise independent judgment needed to resolve problems encountered in the field.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four years of demonstrated experience in requirements analysis, including data collection, assisting in development of deliverables, performing functional and technical analysis, assessment and development tasks. Up to two years of the required experience may be satisfied by a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Requires Bachelors Degree or equivalent and several years of related experience as stated above.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work well with customers, end users, and team members.
  • Must be highly motivated and proactive.
  • Shipyard experience a plus

Salary: Commensurate with experience and skill set.
